OUR Visual Campaign BEGINS

In the coming days and weeks, you will begin to see an online campaign featuring various media assets: posts, reels, videos, and more, to promote Seven Dials. The book is unusual in many respects—particularly in its structure as a blend of different genres: a deeply researched historical fiction (spanning 40 years) and a modern thriller that unfolds rapidly over a few intense days, set 300 years later.

Ultimately, Seven Dials focuses on two major characters: Thomas Neale, an entrepreneur from the past, and Alison Hill, an investigative journalist in the present. Neale was an extraordinary figure, overlooked by historians, dismissed by commentators, and seemingly unloved in his own time. However, he accomplished remarkable feats and can be credited with many outstanding achievements, which he pursued in a way that will leave you astounded. Thus, we need to unpack his story, along with the world and people around him, including three kings (Charles II, James I, and William III) and his closest allies and rivals: Daniel Defoe, Elizabeth Gould, and Isaac Newton.

In the present, as we meet Alison and Brad, we discover people and places that will be familiar to anyone who has worked and lived in London. Yet, behind unfamiliar corners, in hidden alleyways, and beneath the streets, hundreds of years of history remain undisturbed. That is where our Questors come in; poring over the records, looking for clues, and using resources, techniques, and new technology to unlock the secrets of the past.

You haven’t met Neale, Alison, or our full cast in person yet (though the book is published in October), but if you are at all intrigued, our media campaign over the coming months will hopefully whet your appetite further. But amongst an array of wonderful characters, who do you trust?
