Seven DIALS - PROOFS HAVE LANDED

It’s all coming together and I will feel slightly ill! The process of writing is enjoyable, and with the help of a good editor, you can get your head reasonably comfortable with the manuscript - all 90,000 words checked and double-checked for typos. Still, some will be missed, and some inevitably, like Thomas Neal, will be misspelt. But the cover, the design, the colours - hours are spent agonising over, turning it over in your head and gut. Of course, you should not judge by its cover - but EVERYONE does…

Anyway, last week Seven Dials went to print, featuring spot UV on the front and back cover, as well as a beautiful inside cover, with a colourful re-rendering of Edwards Pierce’s extraordinary design for the Sun Dial Pillar. It’s gone now - the printers have rolled, and the product of any idea about Neale, Seven Dials, and a life-changing event, now bound and packed, QA’d and made ready to send to the Publisher. It’s been quite a journey to date.
